Guardia Civil has dismantled a network trafficking lots of hashish and marijuana from Morocco. Besides trafficking drugs they also supplied other criminal organizations with boats, fuel, food and crews. 100 people have been arrested and 5,040 kilos of hashish and 230 kilos of marijuana buds have been seized.
Furthermore, a fake weapon, a stun gun, as well as 5 vehicles including two trucks, computers, navigation and communication equipment, and numerous documents have been seized.
The criminals had several warehouses located in industrial estates on the outskirts of Sevilla, which served to hide the boats while repair and maintenance work was carried out.
One branch of the organization was dedicated to “petaqueo” (supplying fuel to the speed boats). These are very powerful three or four engine boats that require a lot of fuel. This branch had small recreational boats that departed from the ports of La Atunara (Cádiz), Sotogrande (Cádiz) and La Duquesa (Málaga) to supply fuel, food and, if necessary, make crew changes and thus restart the hashish route from Morocco.
Another branch, of the same organization, transported the drugs that were brought into the peninsula throughout Europe. For this they used trucks that they hid in an industrial area in Dos Hermanas (Sevilla). The drugs were usually hidden between fruits alternating it with hashish and marijuana batches.
