Suspended Doctor who spoke out against COVID-19 vaccines for children and those with natural immunity hits back

A River Oaks doctor whom Houston Methodist Hospital suspended in November for spreading COVID-19 misinformation is turning to the legal system to obtain financial records from the medical institution, according to court records.

Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, who resigned her privileges to admit patients after the temporary suspension, announced Monday that she would seek legal action against the hospital. A petition — similar to a records request — was later filed on her behalf to obtain documents related to any revenue the hospital has made in connection to its COVID-19 vaccination program and treatment of patients with coronavirus complications.

The suspension stemmed from Bowden urging against COVID-19 vaccines for children and those with natural immunity. On her Twitter account, she has promoted the unproven benefits for ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug federal health officials have cautioned is not an approved treatment for the virus.

Dr.Bowden published on social media that after some of her patients had adverse reactions to the vaccines, she shifted her practice to administering therapeutics like Ivermectin with which she successfully treated over 2,000 patients.

A US hospital has rejected a patient for a heart transplant at least in part because he is not vaccinated against Covid-19.

DJ Ferguson, 31, is in dire need of a new heart, but Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston took him off their list, said his father, David.

He said the Covid vaccine goes against his son's "basic principles, he doesn't believe in it".

The hospital said it was following policy.Brigham and Women's Hospital told the BBC in a statement: "Given the shortage of available organs, we do everything we can to ensure that a patient who receives a transplanted organ has the greatest chance of survival.

"A spokesman said the hospital requires "the Covid-19 vaccine, and lifestyle behaviours for transplant candidates to create both the best chance for a successful operation and to optimise the patient's survival after transplantation, given that their immune system is drastically suppressed".

The hospital's carefully worded statement may suggest other factors lie beyond the patient's unvaccinated status for his ineligibility, but it refused to discuss specifics, citing patient privacy.

Healthcare workers march against vaccine mandate in Germany

Healthcare workers joined thousands of protesters for a march against the vaccine mandate in Dusseldorf on Saturday.

Banners reading “We are not working with vaccine mandate” and “Unemployed from 16.03.2022” were held during the protest. Mandatory vaccination for medical workers is due to come into force from March 16.

The march was met by several counter-demonstrations from Antifa and vaccination supporters though no incidents were reported.

73,2 percent of the German population has been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. On Friday, 178 people died with COVID-19 in the country.

German politicians debate on making COVID-19 vaccine mandatory 2

Germany's parliament is set to hold its first debate Wednesday on a possible wide-ranging coronavirus vaccine mandate, with three options emerging: obligatory vaccinations for all adults or for everyone above 50, or no mandate at all.

German politicians of all stripes long insisted that there would be no vaccine mandate. But the tide turned late last year amid frustration that a large number of holdouts was hampering the fight against COVID-19.

Shortly before he became chancellor in December, Olaf Scholz came out in favour of a vaccine mandate, predicting that it would take effect in February or early March.

That timetable has slipped, in part because of the path Scholz has chosen. The government isn't putting forward legislation itself, but leaving groups of lawmakers to come up with cross-party proposals and then allowing members of parliament to vote according to their conscience rather than along party lines.

. . . Ernest Ramirez, a grieving father whose only son died of an enlarged heart days after he allegedly was vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. (I emailed Pfizer’s communications department on Monday and asked if they were aware of Ernesto Ramirez’s death or Ernest Ramirez’s claims. I didn’t receive a response.)

Following the death of his son, Ramirez decided to raise awareness around the issue. So he launched a GoFundMe page—but soon found his page deleted for “prohibited conduct” and his donations forfeited.

Massive demonstration for freedom in Canada lead by the truckers

www.facebook.com/LauraLynnTT/videos/514371643299917/

Protesters against a vaccine mandate for truckers crossing the US-Canada border have brought Canada's capital city to a standstill for a second day.

- - -

Elsewhere across the city, truckers blocked the streets around Canada's parliament building and Ottawa's Mayor Jim Watson said some protesters had harassed staff at a soup kitchen, demanding free meals after they were turned away by restaurants for their refusal to comply with indoor mask mandates.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family also left their home in Ottawa over safety concerns on Saturday.

- - -

Mr Trudeau called the protesters "a small fringe minority" during a press conference earlier this week.

- - -

Mr Trudeau's Liberal government brought in the vaccine mandate on 15 January that would require unvaccinated Canadian truckers crossing the two nations' border to quarantine once they return home.
