Former US President Donald Trump has criticised the “grotesque effort” in using human suffering to advance extreme political agendas – slamming President Biden’s “highly dangerous” rhetoric.

Mr Trump said cynical politicians are “seeking to exploit the tears of sobbing families”.

“When Joe Biden blamed the gun lobby, he was talking about Americans like you,” he told the audience at the NRA conference.

“He was shamefully suggesting that Republicans are somehow okay with letting school shootings happen,” he said.

“This rhetoric is highly divisive and dangerous, and most importantly, it’s wrong.”
