Junta de Andalucía has asked the Spanish Government to make “mascarillas” mandatory outdoors again, regardless if social distancing can be kept or not. This has been requested by the Minister of Health and Family (Consejero de Salud y Familias), Jesús Aguirre (PP), during the meeting at the Interterritorial Health Council (Consejo Interterritorial de Salud).

Spain maintains the mandatory use of "mascarillas" outdoors

El decreto que contempla el uso obligatorio de las mascarillas en el exterior ha salido adelante con 161 votos a favor, 153 en contra y 26 abstenciones, pese a las críticas al Gobierno por haber incluido en la misma norma otros asuntos como la revalorización de las pensiones con el IPC de 2021 o la contratación de sanitarios.

El PP ha votado en contra a falta de un informe que respalde este tipo de uso, con lo que sus votos negativos se han unido a los de Vox, Ciudadanos y PDeCAT.

Only four days later the government changed its will mind:

De hecho, este viernes la Cadena SER está contando que el Consejo de Ministros del próximo martes aprobará el fin de la mascarilla al aire libre, una medida que ha confirmado poco después la ministra de Sanidad y Consumo, Carolina Darias, en Hoy por Hoy: "La idea es que sea publicado el miércoles en el Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE) y sea efectiva desde el jueves".
