The 34-year-old man has been using a multitude of false profiles on Internet in which he pretended to be younger and, in this way, gain the trust of his victims. The minor reported the sexual assault through the AlertCops application.
The identification of the alleged perpetrator was very complicated due to the scarce data available, requiring an intense search for the area where the events occurred. The police managed to locate and identify a 34-year-old man with the same characteristics provided by the victim, as well as a car compatible with the data provided. The police found photos and videos of naked minors or in their underwear in the detainee's mobile phone. The suspect was recognized by the victim.
A search was carried out in the home of the detainee, where the police intervened electronic devices, two computers, several mobile phones, as well as 15 cans containing marijuana weighing approximately 680 grams. The man is charged of possession of child pornography and drug trafficking.
According to the investigation, the detainee used a multitude of false profiles on the Internet to initiate conversations with minors.
The investigation remains open since there might be more victims.
