Guardia Civil and Policía Nacional have carried out 18 searches, mostly in Marbella. 14 people have been arrested and 12 vehicles and an arsenal of weapons have been seized. This is linked to the intercepted of 1,500 kilograms of cocaine in April 2020, where five people were arrested.
Among the seized weapons are two US military assault rifles (M16A1) that exclusively are for military use.
Those 14 people that have been arrested are alleged members of one of the criminal organizations most active dedicated to trafficking of cocaine in the province of Málaga. 11 of them have been sentenced to prison.
Several of the 12 vehicles that have been sized have been equipped with sophisticated systems of concealment for weapons, money and drugs.
During the course of investigation other smaller criminal groups that have supported this criminal organization have been dismantled too. In June the final hit was carried out against to the different branches of this criminal organization in the province of Málaga.
This criminal organization has, over the years, forged an important business network with different and varied lines of business, all with the sole purpose of laundering the profits obtained from drug trafficking. Their main business laundering activities have been restoration and the equestrian sector.
