The swimming pools were dirty and there was lots of ants already by the end of last summer. One could have expected that these issues should have been dealt with before the start of the summer season. This year when there's an ongoing pandemic, then it's outrageous that the swimming pools have not been cleaned thoroughly.
The summer season is busy until the the start of the Spanish schools in mid September. The swimming pools and the showers looked dirty already at the very beginning of September 2019. There were also plenty of ants that made it unpleasant to lay down on the lawn.
For dealing with the issue of too many ants efficiently, one has to put out pesticide that kills the nests and all their satellite nests. This is a process that takes time and therefore is preferably carried out during time periods when swimming pools areas can be kept closed for some time. By putting out ant poison regularly during the off-season, one can keep the number of ants down and can avoid an unpleasant invasion of ants. A quick fumigation when the problem has become unbearable is only a temporary solution, since many the nests are still alive.
The management has had plenty of time to thoroughly clean the swimming pools and dealing with the invasion of ants in between the summer seasons. The problem with Covid-19 stood clear already by the end of February 2020. The swimming pools areas were closed until 1 June when the province of Málaga moved to Phase 2. Since there's an ongoing pandemic, one could have expected that the swimming pools would have been cleaned thoroughly. A big number of communities in Málaga didn't open their swimming pools to start with due to the extra cost of cleaning and disinfecting them very frequently. It's beyond understanding why the swimming pools at Terrazas del Rodeo were opened being filthy.
The drainage around the swimming pools consist of small plastic bars that need to be replace after some time because they brittle with time after being exposed to UV-radiation of the sun. Many of these plastic bars were due to be replace already last summer. It gives a terrible impression when these plastic bars are broken and dirty. It's difficult to understand why not all the plastic bars were replaced before the swimming pools were opened to make it possible to keep the swimming pools cleaner.
