The regional government of Andalucia (Junta de Andalucía) has decided to extend the mandatory use of face masks to all outdoor and indoor public spaces. The stricter regulation comes into force at 12.00 am on Wednesday, 15 July 2020, and will be part of a package of new measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The aim of the measure is to prevent more local outbreaks of Covid- 19. The use of face masks is believed to reduce the risk of Covid-19 contagion from person to person to 1%.

Penalties for not wearing a mask will be imposed.
