From 21 March 2022, the fines for a number of traffic offences will be increased to EUR 200, and also the number of points deducted from the driving license.
Furthermore, Municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants must establish Low Emission Zones before January 1, 2023.
The new Traffic Law toughens the penalties for using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seat belt and for throwing objects onto the road. In addition, it eliminates the margin of 20 km/h to overtake on secondary roads, which is very likely to increase fines for speeding on conventional roads.
