Junta de Andalucia steps back from its previous decision to force bars and restaurants to be closed between 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cafés will now be able to remain open between these hours from 18 December, but no alcohol is allowed to be served between 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This was announced by Jesús Aguirre at a press conference on 17 December.

Junta de Andalucía has decided to apply de-escalation in two phases to increase mobility during Christmas and New Year. In the first phase people will be allowed to move between the municipalities and the opening hours for the shops will be extended.

In the second phase people will be allowed to move between the provinces and the curfew will be shortened. The opening hours for the shops, hotels, restaurants and bars will also be extended in the second phase. There will be further ease of the restrictions on the following dates: 24, 25, 31 December and 1 January.
