The Spanish government has decided to extend the travel restrictions until June 15, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It's mainly Spanish citizens that will be allowed to enter Spanish territories.
EU and European Economic Area
Entry to Spain will be denied to citizens of member-states of the European Union or the European Economic Area and their families who do not belong to one of the following categories:
- Registered as residents in Spain or who go directly to their place of residence in another member-state of EU or Schengen, or Andorra.
- The spouse of a Spanish citizen or partner registered in a public registry, and those ascendants and descendants who live in his charge, whenever they travel with or to meet with him/her.
- Cross-border workers.
- Health or elderly care professionals who go to or return from their work.
- Personnel who is transporting goods. Crew of ships working with maritime transport services or fishing. Flight personnel carrying out commercial air transport.
- Personnel of diplomatic, consular, international, military or humanitarian organizations carrying out their work.
- People traveling for imperative family reasons duly accredited.
- People who can prove reason of force majeure or situation of need, or whose entry is allowed for humanitarian reasons.
Countries outside the Schengen Area
- Any person from a third country outside the Schengen Area will be refused to enter Spain, unless they belong to one of the following categories:
- Habitual residents in the European Union, in the associated Schengen States or Andorra, who go directly to their place of residence.
- Holders of a long-term visa issued by a EU member-state or a Schengen associated country.
- Registered as residents in Spain or who go directly to their place of residence in another EU member-state or a Schengen country, or Andorra.
- The spouse of a Spanish citizen or partner registered in a public registry, and those ascendants and descendants who live in his charge, whenever they travel with or to meet with him/her.
- Cross-border workers.
